The Over 750 Year Old Nichiren Shoshu  Buddhist Organization Opened its First Temple In the West African Country of Ghana on February 21, 1998.  This Nichiren Shoshu Temple is the Largest Temple Outside of Japan.

In 1998 Anthony Elmore traveled to Accra Ghana for the opening of the Senmyo-Zan Hokkeji Temple. While in Ghana the Nichiren Shoshu Priest asked him to be the official Videographer of the opening ceremony. Since 1998 Elmore has traveled to Ghana over 10 times documenting the cirumstances in Ghana.  Elmore contributes his travel to Ghana as a major change in his life.

Bill Giles, Maude Devictor, and Jessica Cole with the Blond hair all traveled to Ghana with other Americans to this 1998 Temple opening.
This is the first Nichiren Shoshu Temple in Africa built by the African Members
